Each year at the Club’s Annual Dinner, several members of the community are recognized for their outstanding support and dedication to youth of Salem. These awards include:

Man of the Year Richard P. McCoy Service Award President’s Award Volunteer of the Year Marketing & Communications Award Stewardship Award

The evening culminates with the announcement of the Club’s Youth of the Year. The Youth of the Year program begins with the selection of “Youth of the Month.” From this pool of candidates, three finalists are selected and are required to complete a series of essays and interview with a panel of judges. One individual is then chosen to represent the Club as its Youth of the Year. Each of the finalists receives a savings bond donated by Enterprise Bank and the winner also receives a $1,000 scholarship donated by Steve and Diane Hatem.

Richard P. McCoy Service Award - Technical Needs for outstanding service and commitment to the Club
Stewardship Award - Camille Flaherty for exemplary support and dedication
Marketing & Communications Award - Area News Group/Salem Community Patriot for their work to help promote the name and mission of the Boys and Girls Club
Man of the Year Award - Edward M. Callahan. This award is presented to a Board Member or member of the community who through service, support and dedication has made the greatest impact on the success of the Boys & Girls Club of Salem
President’s Award - Patrick E. Donovan. This award is presented to an individual or business at the discretion of the President of the Board for significant support and guidance on behalf of the Club
Volunteer Award - Dave Ruffen and Steve Ring for outstanding volunteer service
Special Recognition Award - Salem-Co-operative Bank for their ongoing support and dedication to the club.
